Let me introduce myself

So as this is my first post on the new blog, I should probably introduce myself a bit. You may (or may not, which would be quite normal hah) know me from my previous blog "La fille d'Anvers". About one and a half year ago I decided to delete it because it no longer felt like me. But (yup, there's a but) as I always felt the urge to write down some of my thoughts and experiences (diary at the age of 11, msn page at the age of 13, myspace at the age of 14, etc.) I just had to start a little platform of my own on the world wide web again to share with you what I love doing the most: exploring places I've never been and experiencing tastes I've never had.

As I wanted to start off in a fun way, I decided to do some general + some random facts about me. Here we go!!

1.My name is Maxime Grantcharoff. As you probably noticed, my last name is quite uncommon. My great grandfather was Bulgarian and came to Belgium in the early 30's. Unfortunately I never learned the language (neither did my dad or grandfather, which is quite weird now I think about it).
2. I'm a nineties kid, being born on September 29, 1992. That means I'm a Libra = eternal doubter.
3. I was born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium and I'm intending to stay.
4. I live together with my boyfriend and we've been dating for 8,5 years now. Last September he proposed on top of the Empire State building in NYC. Without a doubt the most romantic, breathtaking and surprising moment of my entire life so far!! Oh, and I said, or rather yelled, yes of course :) We're getting married on June 23, 2018
5. I work in logistics at the port of Antwerp, after having studied Languages & International Business.
6. I have a 21 year old sister who happens to be my best friend too.
7. I'm hooked on getting up late on a Saturday and going out for extensive brunch in A-town. Nothing beats catching up over a soy cappuccino and fluffy pancakes.
8. I'm addicted to Sex and the City. I've watched all seasons for over 10 times already. Whenever I finish the last season and the movies, I start all over again (much to my boyfriend's frustration).
9. Yay for granny weekends! I love rainy days where I can just stay in, light some candles, watch movies underneath fluffy blankets, topped off with boyfriend hugs and pizza deliveries.
10. I'm the worst at getting up in the morning. I snooze for about an hour. During the weekend we usually wake up around 9 but stay in bed until 11.30.
11. I live for those nights which are filled with wine & good food and are shared with great friends.
12. I barely wear pants at home. An oversized shirt and underpants will do.
13. Probably quite cliché but I lost my heart in New York the minute I got there. It's true what they say "There's an energy to New York that is unlike any other city in the world." We already booked our flights to go back by the end of December and to celebrate NYE over there!!!
14. The love you get from cats is seriously underrated. We adopted 2 abandoned and abused cats which also happen to be brothers. They really have positively impacted my life.
15. I'm a huge pasta lover. Also pizza. Or maybe just Italian food in general. Nothing is as comforting as a big bowl of pasta or a huge slice of pizza combined with a glass of red wine (or two, or three, or ...).
16. I'm also way too addicted to avocado sushi with heaps of wasabi and soy sauce. I created this habit where I order it at least once or twice a week.
17. I can't do anything in moderation. I for example either eat extremely healthy or all the sugar, fat and carbs in the world. I'm so jealous of people who can enjoy a treat from time to time without overeating.
18. I'm a sucker for bad reality tv such as Geordie Shore and Teen Mom.
19. I have some form of mysophobia (fear of contamination and germs). I wash my hands everytime I touch something or shake hands with someone and I N E V E R touch doorknobs or other handles with my bare hands. Also when someone near me gets sick or pukes, I instantly start freaking out. Pretty insane now I think about it.
20. I really want to follow a photography class. Maybe I should finally start one in 2017?
